“The Word of God reminds us of who He is so that we remember who we are.” Marlena Copado writes in “Why I Worship” the Spring Edition of The COURAGEOUS & KIND Magazine. It shifts our hearts and perspectives from a “me” mentality to a “He, the Lord God Almighty” mentality and focus. One of the easiest ways we can encourage a perspective shift is through worship music.

Traditionally, hymns and worship music lyrics are scripturally based and can be packed full of truth from the Bible. When we worship through song and sing biblically based lyrics, it reminds us that we are daughters of the one true God and have a direct access line to the Lord through Jesus Christ.

Listening to hymns and worship music gives us the opportunity to express our love and gratitude to God. Knowing we belong to God allows us to find joy in the midst of difficult circumstances, give thanks for what we have, and prayerfully worship God as our Healer, Provider, and Savior.

To worship God is to know who you are and that you are His.

Will you join us in cranking up the worship music? We are daughters of the one true King, so let’s sing about it! Let us know what you’re listening to too!

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Colossians 3:!6

“Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” John 14:6

“Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us.” Ephesians 2:!8

“For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Zephaniah 3:!7
